Stephen Glenn Charles Hilton was born on 25 August 1969 in London, England. He is a British-born American conservative political commentator and former political adviser.
📅 Early Life and Family
Hilton’s parents emigrated from Hungary during the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. They anglicised their surname from Hircsák to Hilton.
His father, István, was a goaltender for the Hungarian national ice hockey team. His parents divorced when Steve was five, and he lived with his mother in a cold, damp basement flat.

After graduating from Oxford University, Hilton worked for the Conservative Central Office. He bought the “New Labour, New Danger” demon eyes poster campaign for the 1996 pre-general election.
Prior to the 2005 general election, Hilton lost to Michael Gove in his bid to be the Conservative candidate in Surrey Heath.

On 21 April 2025, Hilton launched his campaign for Governor of California. His candidacy was endorsed by Trump on 6 April 2026.
