Willis spoke with a stutter and joined the drama club, finding that acting on stage reduced his stutter. He graduated from Penns Grove High School in 1973.
After high school, he worked as a security guard at the Salem Nuclear Power Plant and transported crew members at a factory. He turned to acting after working as a private investigator.
๐ Breakthrough
Willis was cast as David Addison Jr. in the television series Moonlighting (1985โ1989), competing against 3,000 other actors. During the show’s five seasons, he won an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award.
