Rajaram is a karate practitioner who lives with his wife Neelaveni and daughter Nila, who are also skilled at karate. Their peaceful, middle-class life is upended when they inadvertently become the primary obstacle for a dangerous corporate gang headed by Varun Dayalan and his ruthless assassin, Abraham.
As the conflict builds, the family is forced to unleash their skills, transforming from ordinary citizens into a highly dangerous force to protect themselves, the environment, and their legacy.

Blast is the directorial debut of Subash K. Raj. The film, initially known by the working title AGS28, began production in August 2025 in Chennai, and wrapped in February 2026, with the official title revealed that April.

Janani K of India Today said the film had “promising ideas”, but it’s “predictable screenplay and long runtime keep it from reaching its full potential”. The Times of India wrote, “The casting and performances of most actors, including the younger Nila, are on point, which aids the writing.”
The Times of India added that “the action blocks may seem a little repetitive, and some choices like cutting to a different sentiment in the middle of an important action scene might put us off, but such qualms can be overlooked.” Bhumi Vashisht of The Sunday Guardian wrote, “Despite strong performances, especially Preity Mukundhan, the film suffers from uneven pacing, weak villains, and a predictable, overlong screenplay.”
