This marked WWE’s first-ever PPV and livestreaming event held in Italy.

In September 2025, Nick Khan, the president of WWE, announced that the promotion would be hosting its first-ever PPV and livestreaming event in Italy in 2026. On February 18, 2026, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque confirmed the event as Clash in Italy and it would be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026, in the Inalpi Arena in Turin. It was also announced that the June 1 episode of Monday Night Raw would emanate from the same venue.

In addition to airing on traditional pay-per-view worldwide, Clash in Italy was available to livestream on the ESPN streaming service in the United States, Netflix in most international markets, SuperSport in Sub-Saharan Africa, and Abema in Japan. During the May 22 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, WWE announced that in the United States, the first hour would be simulcast on ESPN.

In the main event, Roman Reigns defeated Jacob Fatu in Tribal Combat to retain Raw’s World Heavyweight Championship as well as his position as the Tribal Chief of the Anoaสปi family. In other prominent matches, Brock Lesnar defeated Oba Femi, Rhea Ripley defeated Jade Cargill to retain SmackDown’s WWE Women’s Championship, and in the opening bout, Cody Rhodes defeated Gunther to retain the SmackDown’s Undisputed WWE Championship.
